IELTS Preparatory Courses
To ensure students are matched to the right course and can be expected to succeed in the allotted study time a Placement Test will be administered. The Placement Test will be provided free of charge and will focus on the two productive skills - Writing and Speaking. Candidates will write a short-timed composition in 25 minutes and participate in a live discussion for five minutes. The following IELTS Preparatory Courses are provided to cover differing student requirements:
General English/Academic IELTS Preparation - for 5.0 or below
Students who place below IELTS 5 on the Placement test will undertake a skill-based course designed to boost their vocabulary and proficiency to allow them to participate successfully in IELTS preparation courses. Students will practice all four skills in tasks tailored to future IELTS proficiency.
Course Duration - 32 hours of face-to-face (online) study and 70 hours of guided homework
Academic IELTS Preparation - for 5.0 to 6.0
This course is designed to raise students' IELTS scores by one band. The course will focus on all four skills tested in the IELTS exam. Particular emphasis will also be given to exam and learner training to allow students to achieve the best possible score.
Course Duration - 100 hours of face-to-face (online) study and 100 hours of guided homework
Academic IELTS Preparation - for 5.5 to 6.5
This course is designed to raise students' IELTS scores by one band. The course will focus on all four skills tested in the IELTS exam. Particular emphasis will also be given to exam and learner training to allow students to achieve the best possible score.
Course Duration - 100 hours face to face (online) study and 100 hours of guided homework
